Research & Projects — New Models of Legal Practice

PAR is undertaking a new study of New Models of Legal Practice, composed of lawyers who have left large-firm practice to found small firms designed to respond both to clients’ desire for lower rates and lawyers’ desire for work-life balance. Building on our pioneering inventory of New Model firms begun in 2007, our new study will seek to categorize different types of new models of legal practice, to understand what draws attorneys to these firms and to understand their business models. The goal is to help individual lawyers and legal employers understand and adapt to the trends observed, and to disseminate the best practices identified through the study. Current sponsors are Lexis Nexis and Counsel on Call. For more information about the study or if you are interested in sponsorship, please contact us.
