Membership in the Project for Attorney Retention demonstrates your firm or law department’s support for retaining and advancing women in law and for work/life balance for all attorneys — which is essential in today’s competitive market for top legal talent. PAR members receive vital information about recruiting, retention, and development of attorneys, all with an eye toward solidifying the long-term financial health of your organization.
Here’s a quick look at some of the special projects PAR has recently undertaken, thanks to our Members’ support:
- A study of law firm partner compensation systems, with best practices recommendations;
- The PAR Diversity and Flexibility Connection, an ongoing discussion between a dozen prominent general counsels and law firm chairs resulting in the development of best practices for the retention of diverse attorneys (including women and part-time attorneys);
- A study of part-time partners in law firms, which includes best practices recommendations;
- A training package for law firms to develop bias-free performance evaluations, complementing the ABA Commission on Women’s new Fair Measure manual, which was completely revised by PAR;
- Updating and revising PAR’s report on work/life balance for corporate counsel.
